I Will Live
on One Dollar ($1.00 USD) a Day for One School Week
September
10th is the first day of school in Liberia. Since September 2009, the
Center for Peace Education (CPE) has taught Peace Education as a single subject
in seven schools and conducted peer mediation training in several local
communities. However, this academic year CPE risks not teaching because of lack
of funds.
To
help raise funds to continue teaching peace education, I am going to live on One
Dollar ($1.00 USD) a day beginning Monday, September 3rd through
Friday September 7th. I will
keep you posted about my daily activities while living on $1.00 a day – through
face book and CPE’s blog.
Please
find below a breakdown of the organization’s expenses. You may use it as a guide to determine how
you want to support the continued teaching of peace education in post-conflict
Liberia.
